Intranasal corticosteroids and oral antihistamines, and leukotriene receptor antagonists in selected cases are the most preferred drugs for pharmacotherapy of allergic rhinitis. Alternative pharmacotherapeutic approaches are needed in cases which those drugs can not be used for various reasons; in cases which resulted in side-effects, not effective, or not preferred. In this paper, other pharmacotherapy options and alternative treatment methods in the treatment of allergic rhinitis are described based on `Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA)` guidelines and current literature.
